Install Image-Master 7 Post Installation Notes

If you elect to assign the new 64-bit workstations their own Image-Master machine ID that is different from the existing Ids in use, you must edit the IMASTER.INI once in notepad after the installation has finished, copy the existing DefaultDBF= line from an existing [StationA] group, and paste it under the corresponding [Station...] section for the new machine ID selected during installation.

Post Installation Notes for Special Situations

  1. Scanning Stations running Windows NT, 2000,2003,2008,XP,Vista or Win 7 using the TWAIN interface

It is possible that restricted rights users will be unable to scan from these workstations until the administrator has granted increased privileges to the (\WINNT\TEMP or \WINDOWS\TEMP) and the (\WINNT\TWAIN32 or \WINDOWS\TWAIN32 or \WINDOWS\TWAIN_32) directories. If restricted rights users cannot scan, try to scan as the administrator. If the administrator can scan, change the security settings of the two directories indicated above for all users.

  1. Color Image Viewing Support in FullView Professional

FullView Professional now supports 24-bit color JPEGs and JPEG encoded TIFF files. Print to Image-Master, File to Image-Master, and Kofax Interface Scanning all support the creation of full-color documents. In order to display color images from within FullView, the Kofax Runtime Version 3.65.60 or later must be installed on the workstation. Image-Master 5 comes with Version 3.75 of the Kofax Runtime which is suitable for non-scanning, TWAIN scanning, and Adrenaline 650i workstations ONLY. If the workstation uses a Kofax Adrenaline 850s, 850v, 1700s, or any KF series card to scan, do not follow this procedure. Instead, download and install the most current runtime for the appropriate model interface card from www.Kofax.com. To accomplish the Kofax Runtime upgrade on workstations needing this feature, use either of the following methods:

  • Run WSETUP. During Step 10 (or close to it), check the box next to the "Display Installation Warnings and Advisories" and answer Yes when prompted to replace the existing Kofax Toolkit.

    OR

  • Run "SETUP" from the \IMASTER\MODULES\IC200\ folder located on the network.

  1. Changing the Idle Wait Time for IMPTI7

The default time for closure of all idling IMPTI processes and modules on the network is one hour. You can reduce the idle wait time for IMPTI7 by making an edit in IMASTER.INI.

To change the default time for closure of idling processes, edit IMASTER.INI as follows:

A. Open the F:\IMaster\IMASTER.INI file with a text editor.

B. Navigate to the bottom of your Section Group and insert the following:

IdleTimeout= {time to wait in minutes}

Example of a 5 Minute Idle Timeout Setting

IdleTimeout=5 would shutdown IMPTI7 five minutes after it was finished.
