Be sure to Contact CLS Support before you attempt to run IMDMF7.EXE.

Using the Software

Sending Documents (exporting)

  1. Close all other copies of Image-Master.
  2. Start the IMDMF7 program.
  3. If using a transfer folder, erase all previously existing files. If using a CD or DVD disc, make sure it is formatted, inserted into the writer, and empty.
  4. Verify that the settings chosen during the installation are correct and click [Start].

The export operation will start and the documents will be copied to the transfer folder (or directly to the transfer media) and a destination database will be created. The time required to complete the export will depend on the number of documents to be transferred.

  1. When the export operation has completed, the program will display a message indicating the total number of documents that were copied. Press any key or click anywhere with the mouse to acknowledge the message, then select [Exit] to close the program.
  2. If a transfer folder is in use, package the entire contents of the folder, including all subfolders and files. Common strategies include zipping or archiving (although there will be no compression gain, just the convenience of dealing with a single or small group of files), copying to CD or DVD via mastering software, and FTP or HTTP file transfer.
  3. Initiate a transfer to the receiver, or alert the receiver that a new transfer file is available to pick up and process.

Receiving Documents (importing)

  1. Unpack and copy the transfer set from the receiver to the transfer folder OR insert the transfer CD/DVD into the appropriate drive for reading.
  2. Close all other copies of Image-Master.
  3. Start the IMDMF7 program.
  4. Verify that the settings chosen during the installation are correct and click [Start].

The import operation will start and the documents will be copied from the transfer folder (or directly from the transfer media) into the Image-Master database specified as the DestinationDBF. The time required to complete the import depends on the number of documents to be transferred.

  1. When the import operation has completed, the program will display a message indicating the total number of documents that were copied. Press any key or click anywhere with the mouse to acknowledge the message, then select [Exit] to close the program.
