Reading a Barcode

When using barcodes, there must be at least one index field set up to hold barcode values. The barcode field can be set to read any barcode in a batch or number on a specific page.

When set to read barcodes, vMedia can read them in four ways:

• Page by page

• Left to right

• Top to bottom

• Every page that is scanned in the batch

Each barcode is assigned three numbers. The numbers refer to:

• Its location in the batch regardless of which page it is on
• The page number on which it is found
• The barcode number that it is on the page
