File to vMedia Introduction

NOTE: Depending on how you originally set up vMedia, it might be located in the root of vMedia rather than in the root of IMASTER. If this is the case, any references to the IMASTER folder should be referred to as vMedia.

The File to vMedia feature is an extension to Print to vMedia that permits multiple word processing merge documents to be automatically separated and filed within the Document Management system.

When a File to vMedia job has been started, vMedia will convert the paper representation of each document into one or more electronic files, saving the image or a picture of the paper representation as if the document had been printed to a physical printer and then scanned. When the documents have been filed using File to vMedia, there is no distinction between a File to vMedia document and one that has been scanned through a traditional scanner.

vMedia has been enhanced to allow users to export one or more PDF files when filing to vMedia (FTV). The various configuration options allow you to configure the resulting PDF file(s). This can be helpful for submitting court documents electronically or any time that a PDF file is desired. See Export PDF During File to vMedia ("FTV") for details.

The topics in this File to vMedia section will explain the system requirements for using the File to vMedia feature, how to install the software, how to format the merge documents to be automatically recognized, and how to initiate a File to vMedia.
